Faye Zwally Dissinger, 92
February 4, 1933 - October 02, 2025
Faye Zwally Dissinger, 92, of Lititz, Pennsylvania passed away on October 2, 2025. Born on February 4, 1933, in Akron, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alta Zwally.
A proud graduate of Ephrata High School, Faye married her high school sweetheart, Floyd R. Dissinger. They shared over 70 years of marriage, marked by devotion to family, faith and service to others. Floyd preceded her in death in 2021.
Faye was actively involved for over 50 years with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), one of the world’s largest women’s service organizations. She served as president of the Springfield Women’s Club then became president of the Pennsylvania Federation of Women’s Clubs, and ultimately international president of GFWC in Washington, DC (1996-1998). Her service opened doors to travel which was one of her great joys. Faye loved seeing the world, not only through GFWC work but also alongside family and friends. A highlight of her travels was a journey to the Philippines where she joined efforts with Operation Smile to help bring life-changing medical care to children. Remaining active both civically and through volunteering, she was honored on the Volunteer Memorial Wall in Springfield, PA. Faye was a woman of many passions. She had a deep appreciation for history and genealogy, tracing family roots with care and enthusiasm.
Friends and family will remember her thoughtful spirit, and the countless ways she made gatherings feel warm and welcoming. Faye was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Zimmerman. She is survived by her brother, Jay Zwally; her sons, Ray Dissinger (Lisa) and Todd Dissinger (Charlotte); her grandchildren, Cole, Tyler, Stevie, and Evan; and her great-granddaughters, Ella and Olivia. Her family was the pride of her life, and she delighted in celebrating their milestones, encouraging their dreams and sharing her wisdom across generations.
A celebration of Faye’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Friends and family are invited to visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Evangelical Cemetery, 105 N. 11th St., Akron, PA 17501. In keeping with her lifelong spirit of service, memorial contributions in Faye’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.
