Evelyn B. Book, 95

Evelyn B. Book, 95, of Brethren Village passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Born in Paradise township, she was the daughter of the late Parke and Marian Brown Mowrer. Evelyn was the loving wife of the late Harold G. Book and her first husband was the late Walter R. Rineer. She was an active and faithful member of Mt. Eden Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. She was a proud graduate of Paradise High School, class of 1949. Evelyn was a bookkeeper for Landis Brothers Inc. until her retirement in 1992. She was a talented painter and was musically inclined when it came to playing the piano. Evelyn also loved square dancing.

Surviving is a son, Curtis R. husband of Diane Rineer, of Boise, Idaho, a stepson, James husband of Carol Book, of Holtwood, grandchildren, Cher M. Rineer wife of Jeff Fulmer, Eric C. Rineer, a great granddaughter, Madison Grace Rineer, as well as two step granddaughters, and four great step grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Jane Hostetter. Preceding her in death was her twin brother, and three sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service for Evelyn at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, Pa 17579 on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing and time of visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
