Emma Jane Devine Conley, 83
Emma Jane Devine Conley, 83, of 618 Prospect St., died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Lancaster Regional Medical Center.
She was the wife of Lawrence J. Conley Sr., with whom she was married for 59 years this past July 13th. Born in Columbia, Emma was the daughter of the late David A. and Anna McCall Devine.
Emma had worked for Mussers Chips and for Little Prince Baby Clothes Co., both of Columbia, and in later years, at TJ Maxx near Park City.
She was a volunteer for the Lancaster General Hospital auxiliary, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. Emma was a 1941 graduate of Columbia High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons: Lawrence Jr. married to Linda Conley of East Petersburg, and Jere married to Linda Conley of Lancaster; 2 daughters: Denise married to Rick McGeary of Palo Alto, CA, and Cheri married to Chris Jones of Fairport, NY; and by 5 grandchildren: Mark and Todd Jones, Shaun McGeary, and Sheila and Adam Conley. Emma is also survived by 2 sisters: Nancy married to Art Nau of Souderton, PA, and Gloria Douglas of Columbia; and by 2 brothers: Richard Devine of White Haven, PA and George married to Liz Devine of York. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Leber and by 2 brothers, James Devine and David Devine Jr.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Assn., 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
