Eleonore B. Hindes, 91, of Columbia, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Born in Danzig, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Helena (Grabowski) and Franz J. Schimanski.

Eleonore was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd F. Kline, in 1991, and her second husband, Eugene J. Hindes, in 2010.

A devoted and longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Eleonore lived a life centered around faith, family, and tradition. She was well known for making fasnachts for over 30 years—an annual labor of love that brought joy to many. Proud of her German heritage, she was an active member of the Lancaster Liederkranz and sang in the Liederkranz Mixed Chorus.

Prior to her retirement in 1997, Eleonore worked for over 25 years as a Sterilizing Operator at Wyeth Laboratories, where she was known for her diligence and dedication.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Steve L. Kline of Bartlett, TN; Donna M. Haldeman of Bear, DE; Daniel F. Kline, husband of Debra, of Lancaster, PA; and Michael D. Kline, husband of Jeanne, of Deerfield, NH. She was a cherished grandmother to 10 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 18, and leaves behind several great-great-grandchildren; and her sister Martina D. Schmitt. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eva M. Strickler, and her daughter-in-law, Donna Kline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry Street, Columbia, PA 17512. Interment will be private at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
