Eleanor Kraft Dunn, 95

July 03, 2025

Eleanor Kraft Dunn, 95, of Willow Street, PA, passed away on July 3, 2025. She was born on December 25, 1929 in Holland, MI. When she was two, her family moved to Mt Olive, NC where her father was recruited as Plant Manager of the Mt Olive Pickle Company. Upon graduating from Mt Olive High School, she went on to study Physical Education starting at Mars Hill College and graduating from Wake Forest College.

Eleanor met Luther Dunn at Wake Forest College, and they married in 1951. Soon after marriage, Luther began a lifelong career with the DuPont Co. Luther’s career required the family to relocate frequently in the Southeast and mid-Atlantic states as well as to Geneva, Switzerland and Dusseldorf, Germany. Eleanor had a traditional sense of interior designing with a unique flair, creating beautiful homes each time the family moved.

Eleanor was a conversationalist and loved talking just about any topic: food, travel, culture, art, politics, religion. She was a gourmet cook and loved entertaining at memorable cocktail and dinner parties throughout her life. She particularly loved spending time at Wrightsville Beach, NC, Zermatt, Switzerland, and anywhere with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Luther, her parents Harry and Margaret Kraft, brother Charles Kraft, sister Margaret Jean K. Hooks, and half-brother Carwin Kraft. She is survived by son Kenneth Dunn, daughter Margaret Mueller (Mark), grandchildren Jason (fiancée Alannah Binotto) and Taylor Mueller, and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the Willow Valley North Auditorium, 600 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA 17602. Family and friends will be received from 10:30AM until the time of service. Interment will be private at Wayne Memorial Park, Dudley, NC.
