Well Loreen, Dr. Young is kicking up gold dust this morning in that heavenly celestial home that he was used of God to prepare so many people for.

When Dr Young’s time came…time came
He took his last breathe here in the land
of the dying and begin to really live in the
land of the living.

Don’t be sorry for him…sorry for him
He’s kicking up gold dust…gold dust
On the streets of glory…streets of glory!

Farewell, Dr. Young, farewell, farewell
He’s at perfect peace…perfect peace.
Entering Heaven’s shores…Heaven’s shores
Kicking up gold dust on the streets of Glory!

We’re going join him over yonder, soon,
Where we’ll be kicking up gold dust…gold dust!
As we hurry down Glory Avenue…Glory Avenue!

Yes, kicking up gold dust…gold dust
On the streets of glory…streets of Glory
I’ll be looking for my Jesus, my Savior
As I’m kicking up gold dust…gold dust
On the streets of Glory! Glory!

Where we’ll be kicking up gold dust
On the streets of gold together…together!
As we travel down Glory Avenue
To embrace the SON OF GOD…SON OF GOD!
GLORY! HALLELUJAH!

God has used your precious husband for some many special tasks and blessings. Amber and I are so grateful for the influence that you two as a couple had on our lives. I don’t think I ever met a couple more in love that laugh at each other as much as you two did.

On a lighter note…Dr. Young is the only man I ever knew who ever put the wrong gas in a truck engine. The only man that was always "a funny one" waiting to happen. From the days parked in the church parking lot in Norwalk, CA, to the baby dedication of Naomi Grace, our now 4.5 year old. Oh so many memories. Thanks for each of them.

In fact when I think of Dr. Young I think of this word "influence". You see like Pastor Bob Combs always says, "if you have a reputation today that is up God, but if you have any character at all now that is up to you." Dr. Jerry Young was a man of God with great character and influence. I want to say to you Loreen thanks for sharing your wonderful husband with young Pastor’s and wives like Amber and I and for your influence.

We are praying for you today because prayer is not our last resort it is our only resort, and I know you know that.

Never Loosing the Wonder of it ALL!
Rev. Wayne, Amber, Ethan & Naomi Ayer

Our Hymn Loreen

Just when I need Him, Jesus is near,
Just when I falter, just when I fear;
Ready to help me, ready to cheer,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him most,
Just when I need Him most,
Jesus is near to comfort and cheer,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him, Jesus is true,
Never forsaking all the way through;
Giving for burdens pleasures anew,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him most,
Just when I need Him most,
Jesus is near to comfort and cheer,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him, Jesus is strong,
Bearing my burdens all the day long;
For all my sorrow giving a song,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him most,
Just when I need Him most,
Jesus is near to comfort and cheer,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him, He is my all,
Answering when upon Him I call;
Tenderly watching lest I should fall,
Just when I need Him most.

Just when I need Him most,
Just when I need Him most,
Jesus is near to comfort and cheer,
Just when I need Him most.

Love you…

Your family is in our prayers.
Sincerely,

Chris & Ann-Marie Neideigh

I can imagine how grieved you all are. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Love,

Pastor Young had a love for God and a love for people that was evident in all he did. I am grateful to have grown up under his godly leadership. He will be missed, but we look forward to reuniting with him in heaven!

We’re so sorry, Loreen, for you, the family, for AGBM, and for all of us that Jerry’s earthly journey has ended. But of course, we know the truths of scripture that he is with Jesus and we will see him again some day–perhaps sooner than we think.

So many memories going all the way back to college. Our hearts and prayers are with you during these days of the memorial services and in the months/years of adjustment ahead.

We loved Jerry, and we love you.  May God’s supernatural peace be on you.

-Terry & Sharon

It was my great privilege and joy to care for Jerry as his hospice nurse.  His love for his wonderful family, his faith and love of God, and especially his sense of humor right to the end endeared him to me. Lorene, please know that I’m close by and available to you if you need anything.  God be with all of you during this difficult time.

Dear Loreen and family:

Years, more than 30, have passed since I last saw you, Loreen, and Jerry.  You and your boys visited Bonny and me in Elmer, NJ.  Jerry was the first chaplain to work with me in the Army Reserves at Camp Drum in Watertown, NY in 1974.  He was a Captain and I was a 1st Lieutenant.  Jerry introduced me to the ministry of the chaplaincy.  More importantly, he shared his faith and himself with me.  I was a young Christian at that time who had graduated from two seminaries.  But, my understanding and convictions of the eternal security of the believer were wrong until  I spent two weeks with your husband.  He was gentle and caring in his persuasion.  He opened the Book and shared from God’s Word what salvation in Christ by grace through faith alone really meant.  That Summer camp was a hinge point in my life.

During the ensuring years Jerry was a mentor, a model I followed in faith as well as in career until thirty years later when I too retired from the chaplaincy.  I never forgot Jerry.  I am a better man and minister today because of him.

Be assured of my prayers for you all.

With much love and affection —

Warmly yours in the grip of our God’s amazing grace,
Harry L. Morgan, Ph.D.

My deepest sympathy and prayer at the death of Chaplain Young.
May God console and comfort you at this time of sorrow.  Life is changed, not taken away.  Now that he is in heaven, call upon him to help you. Know that I am praying for all of you.   He will spend his first
Christmas in heaven with God and the angels.
