Jim Christie (Lancaster General)

My condolences go out to the family of Dr. Young. I never got to know him because he was always away at school, but I lived next-door to his parents in Russellville, Arkansas, in the 1970’s. It sounds like he was a sweet, caring, much-loved individual and I know he made his parents proud. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,

So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing.  May God comfort all of you in your loss.  I treasure many of the memories that I had with all of you – Mr. and Mrs. Young, Mike, Bubba, Lynn, and "Daydy".  Sorry to have lost touch with all of you over the years.  I was just thinking the other day how I would ride in the car with all Young brothers all over the place in Sylvan Hills.  Playing football and army in the yard, and many sleep overs.  Those were the days!  I’m not sure you remember me – I’m Roger Peterson who lived down the street on Loop Road.   I wish you all well.  Stay in touch if you like.

It has been these 31 years since we were classmates at UAMS.  It is sad that we have not seen each other since.  I can only imagine what a wonderful and illustrious career "Mike" has had.  I know from my rememberances of him from medical school that he was a kind and gentle person.  I pray for the comfort and peace of his family, his friends, his colleagues and his patients.  I will keep the fond memory of my classmate.  With all reverence and respect and with all of God’s blessings.

Mrs. Young, Jacob, Darcey, and Nathan,
As an intern at Heart, I was lucky enough to do a rotation with Dr. Young.  When we weren’t talking about pathology (or darts, Irish music, or the Flyers), we were talking about you.  His love for his family was always so evident on his face and in his voice when you all came into the conversation.  I hope that the memory of his love for you will carry you through this difficult time.
He, and you, are in my thoughts and prayers.
I sure will miss him, and we all mourn the loss of an excellent physician.
Sincerely,
Andrea Berry

Dear Family of Dr. Young,
May the Lord comfort you during this time and always! As I was reading this morning from Matthew 25:31-46, I thought of you and prayed for you. One day the Son of Man will come in His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him. The King will say to His sheep, "Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world…the righteous to eternal life." May God comfort you in the absence until the day you will see your loved one face to face in the glory of our Father.
