Dorothy M. Mellott, 82

Dorothy M. Burkey Mellott, 82, of Manor Care Health Services, passed away on Thursday December 4, 2008.  Born in Indiana, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Bud and Lulu Buterbaugh Burkey. She was married to the late Clarence T. Mellott.

Mrs. Mellott was a member of Hempfield Brethren in Christ Church.

Mrs. Mellott is survived by two sons: Roger Mellott, of Columbia and Ralph, companion of Terri Rapp, of Marietta; one daughter: Mildred Purdue of Lancaster; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Statler. Mrs. Mellott was the last of her immediate family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Hempfield Brethren in Christ Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Longenecker’s Brethren Church Cemetery.
