Dorothy M. Garrett, 87

Dorothy Marie Garrett, 87, of Lititz, PA, died Friday, October 27, 2017, at her home at the Moravian Manor, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Keokuk, Iowa, on January 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Herbert W. and Mary Attamarie Prince.
After graduating from the University of Iowa with a Nursing degree, Dottie worked in various aspects of the medical profession throughout her life. She was a member of Lititz Moravian Congregation, for many years a member of the church’s choir and Trombone Choir, and in her golden years kept busy by volunteering in the church office, at the Lititz Historical Foundation, as well as participating in many activities at the Manor.
Dottie is survived by her sons: David, husband of Robyn, of New Bern, North Carolina, and Michael, of Lancaster; her grandchildren, Katie Rineer, wife of Josh, Lauren, Derrick, and Lindsay; brother Harold, husband of Betsye, and sister Ruth. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, and youngest son, Scott.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Life Celebration Memorial Service at the Lititz Moravian Church, 8 Church Square, Lititz, PA on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 2 PM. Dottie’s loss leaaves me with a feeling of significant loss, and void. She well-served as a dedicated member of the Archives Committee at Lititz Moravian! She now resides in that place of bliss with husband Jim.
