Doris J. Donnelly, 81
Doris J. Donnelly, 81, of East Petersburg, passed away peacefully with her loving family and companion by her side on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Orm) Martin. She was the wife of the late Robert J. “Hook” Donnelly who passed away in 2009.
A graduate of McCaskey High School, she worked for the former Hubley Toy’s and retired from RR Donnelly and Sons with 30 years of service. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, Sudoku, dancing, listening to Rod Stewart, going to the mountains, Penn State Football, babysitting her grandpuppy Bindi and especially spending the last 15 years with her beloved dog Sheba. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a longtime member of Millersville VFW Auxiliary. In her younger years she enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Surviving Doris is a son, Raymond A. McMinn, companion of Shelli Fishel of Mt. Joy, three daughters, Kathryn (McMinn) Behmer, companion of Bill Boas, of Lancaster, Dawn M. Miller, wife of Paul, of Columbia and Natalie Schwankl, wife of Chris, of Ephrata. Also surviving 3 sisters, Colleen Gregg, widow of Ross, of Lancaster, Polly Hemperly, wife of Barry, of Lancaster, Alice Engle, widow of Walter (Bert), of FL, a brother: Carl Beyer, Jr., husband of Darlene, of Lancaster, and her companion, Jack K. Slote of Millersville; Five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11AM. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11AM.
