Donald G. Hamric, 87

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Donald G. Hamric, 87, of Willow Street, passed away at Luther Acres Community. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and husband.

Born in Lancaster, to Cecile Hamric and Miriam (Sauer) Hamric. After graduating J.P. McCaskey High School in 1956, he went on to marry Alta M. Fair on June 11, 1960. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.

To Donald, there was no such thing as a stranger; just a friend he hadn’t met yet. Stories from his time in Boy Scouts and working at Armstrong World Industries were frequent topics of conversation. Donald was always ready to share memories from family vacations to the beach in North Carolina and The Cabin in Blaine, PA.

Donald is survived by his three children: Donald P. Hamric, partner of Albert Charon, Jr.; daughter Melissa H., wife of Zack Taft; son David W. Hamric, husband of Priscilla; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Hamric; and sister, Patricia Hamric.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2025 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 600 Penn Grant Rd, Willow Street, PA 17584, from 10:30am to 11:30am with a service to begin at 11:30am. Burial will held privately by the family.
