Obituary

Donald Castor Cartledge, 84, of Gap, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Holmesburg, PA on May 13, 1931 he was the son of the late James Vandegrift Cartledge, Sr. and Evelyn Castor Cartledge. Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lucy Martell Cartledge, his daughter Dr. Donna Marie Cartledge, his brother James V. Cartledge, Jr. married to Lillian Tereshko Cartledge, and several nieces and nephews. He was a loving, supportive and kind husband, father, brother and friend. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a graduate of the Philadelphia Museum College of Art, presently known as the University of the Arts. He was an Art Director for several advertising agencies in Philadelphia, Jenkintown, and Trenton, NJ. Don enjoyed fishing and boating at the New Jersey shore, reading, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Gap, PA. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11AM at Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Ave, Gap, PA 17527 with Rev. William S. Davies, Jr. officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bellevue Presbyterian Church at the above address, Water Street Rescue Mission, 210 S. Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603 or the Salvation Army, 131 S. Queen St, Lancaster, PA 17603.
