Joanne and family, My memories of ‘Uncle’ Donald stretch back over a 50-year involvement with the Leayman family. The three that stand out most: the week at the Dorothea, with three days of rain and eight of us in that tiny cottage; the corn roasts at Spring Lake, with Donald in charge of the fire; and slide nights at the cottage, viewing the same slides of the Acadia trip year after year! Great times, special memories.

Don was the reason the Eden Fire Co. was so successful in its fund raising and book keeping. He was always a behind scenes person. He didn’t want awards or accolades. Thank you Joanne for allowing Don to spend hours in meetings,Christmas Tree sales and buying millions of dollars of apparatus and building additions. With respect and love,
Vince Walls
