David S. Janesky, 73
November 12, 2025
David S. Janesky, 73, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Simon J. and Margaret A. Karpinski Janesky. He was the husband of Sandra A. Zielinski Janesky, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage this past May 7th.
Dave worked as a quality control analyst for several companies prior to his retirement, such as NIBCO, ITT/Grinnell and Bulova. After his retirement, he started his own painting business.
He loved to golf and took great pride in taking care of his home and yard. He loved to read the daily paper cover to cover and keep up to date on the news and current events. What Dave treasured the most was spending time at home with his family. He was a man of strong faith and a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father and friend to many and will be deeply missed. In addition to his wife, Sandy, he is survived by his children: David C. Janesky of Downingtown and Aimee J. married to Naurry Kwon of Portland, OR; his 3 grandchildren Eloise, Agatha, and Royce; and his siblings: Cindy Schietroma of Charlotte, NC, James Janesky of Philadelphia, Fran Rothka of Clarks Summit, PA, and Laurie Roselli of Knoxville, TN.
The family would like to thank the entire IICU staff at Lancaster General Hospital for their dedication and exceptional care.
A viewing was held on Friday, November 14th at the Snyder Funeral Home. A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Dave’s life will be held at a future date for which an announcement will be made

I said the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary for James in the solitude and peacefulness of a chapel at Snyder Funeral home today, November 17th. It feels very comforting to be in the silence and presence of James. It is somehow a mysterious moment in my life and transcends other experiences that I’ve had in my 82 years. I know that James’ soul is at rest. I will cherish this memory forever.

Sandy and family,
We are so very sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. He was a wonderful friend and a doting parent. Bev and I shared so many moments with the two of you–enjoyable dinners, your caring for Beezer, getting and putting together David’s crib, watching David play soccer, Aimee’s wedding and many more. As you will, we will miss him.

My sincere condolences to Sandy and family from a former coworker at ITT/Grinnell Corp back in the 80’s. I remember the good times we had at Christmas parties and our visits to your home. Dave was such a great guy with a great personality and I enjoyed every minute that I spent with him. Both Sue and I send our sincere sympathy.
