I have many good memories of Dave and the Bechtel family. We were next door neighbors on Amity Drive from the time I was born when Dave was almost 12-years-old. He was one of the most good-natured, joyous persons I knew. He had a gift that helped me laugh often and recognize goodness in others. He was respectful and committed to tasks, whether it be working on automobile projects in the Bechtel driveway or when I helped him during an occasional electric job. I remember his Chevy Nomad project and almost anything involving cars and motors with his brother Jim, Pete and Tom. Our neighborhood was a classic example of boomers growing up in the late 50s, 60s and early 70s.
I am grateful to have had Dave’s guidance and example of patience with me as a child and teen.
I am very sorry to hear of his passing. Strength, comfort and loving memories to Nancy, Pet, Tom and the extended family.

Some might remember Dave from the Glass Kitchen back in the 60’s, or Elam E Hershey Jr electrical or Consumers Packing. Dave also played ice hockey in the old outdoor league up in Hershey. He once owned a 1940 Buick with the straight eight motor. Recently flew in a 1928 Ford TriMotor out at York, PA. A life well lived!
