David Matos, 61
March 15, 2024
David Matos, 61, of Millersville, died peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lois Laukhuff Matos. David’s interests included antiquing, fishing, gardening, playing cards and most of all, spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife; Melissa Hagy Matos, of Mount Joy, a son, David Tyler husband of Kelly Ann Matos, of Lititz, and their children Olivia Ann and Owen David Matos, as well as two siblings; Craig husband of Amy Matos and Elaine wife of Glenn Pottberg. Preceding him in death is a brother, Joseph Matos.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend David’s Celebration of life at Manheim Brethren In Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Those desiring can send contributions in David’s memory to Manheim Sertoma, P.O. To Dave’s family and dear friends ………
I was shock when I saw this in the Lancaster’s paper today Sunday 3/24. Dave was one of my closest childhood friends from the 600 block of South Franklin st in Lancaster for many years. I also have a brother Dave and those two knew how to find trouble as young boys. After many years I didn’t see Dave until he open the Cat’s Meow great food and nice place and Dave was very kind. Sending healing prayers to the Matos family from the Woods family during this time of your loss. Dave may you rest in Peace.

Dave was a very amazing person. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed one. He adored his grandchildren. If you ever went to his home you would swear you were at TOYS R US. My daughter Amy is married to Craig Matos, Dave’s brother, and that’s how it was my priviledge to know DAVE, he will be greatly missed. GOD BLESS Cora Trissler

Dave will be sorely missed, always a joy to interact with either at Cat’s or their golf tournaments & lunch on the patio afterwards. Many many years of great times, starting at Cheries Jubilee. Always feeling so very welcome and appreciated, even in his home. A very kind, generous and loving man, it won’t be the same without you Dave, much love forever to you & the family. You legacy will live on…

My deepest condolences to Tyler & Melissa, and the rest of the Matos & Cats family. I will never forget all the great times that I got to enjoy with Dave. We us to go to auctions together way back looking for antiques. I enjoyed working with him at Chuckles for so many years. Than waiting on him at Longhorn for years, with the whole family. And than the opportunity to work again for him at Cats. I will never forget all the valuable lessons he taught me about the restaurant business. And his generosity. May he rest in peace.
