Daryle D. Diedrich, 87

Daryle D. Diedrich, age 87 of Willow Street, Pennsylvania passed away on March 27, 2025 after a long illness. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California he was the son of Clara Martinez McFadden and adopted by her sister, Ruby Martinez Diedrich and her husband Albert T. Diedrich, USN Retired.
Daryle is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Joanne Diedrich of Willow Street, PA, his two loving daughters, Kathie Diedrich of Newberry Springs, CA and Julie Diedrich Kirouac, USN Retired of Poway, CA. Barry Deane (wife Nova) of Oceanside, CA, and Adrian Deane of Lancaster, PA. Daryle ha 5 grandchildren, Dina (husband James), Katrina (husband Mark), Tony (wife Alex), Lark and Elowen and 4 great grandchildren, Rocco, Marki, Robert, Harper and a baby boy on the way. Extended family include Damon, Tori and Charlotte and family. Daryle’s unconditional love for his family included his passion for family gatherings and celebrations.
Born into and a proud member of the Navajo Tribe and affiliated with the Chiricahua Apache Tribe of Pennsylvania. Daryle was known by his Indian name “Soaring Hawk”. His life was a remarkable journey defined by his diverse passions and unwavering commitment to his community. Daryle’s dedication to community extended to his Native American heritage. He actively participated in powwows and took great pride in educating school children about the rich history and culture of Native Americans in San Diego, CA and Lancaster, PA. He was known for his generosity, warmth, and enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge.
Daryle enlisted in the US Navy serving his country with honor. After receiving an honorable discharge, Daryle began a career with Pacific Bell where he dedicated 30 years to his profession as a telecommunications engineer and in 1978 relocated to Poway, CA to finish and then retire his career path with Pacific Bell. He then moved to Willow Street, PA. with his loving wife Joanne.
Beyond his professional achievements Daryle was a passionate advocate for the Classic, Custom and Hot Rod community. He is the co-founder for the San Diego Car Club Council and represented the automotive lobby for many years, including efforts to change legislation in Sacramento, CA to preserve the hobby. An avid car enthusiast he cherished his Classic Cars especially his beloved 1947 Ford Coupe.

Daryle will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family and unwavering spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration in the hearts of those blessed and fortunate enough to have known him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 1pm to 4pm at Freedom Memorial Park, 9 Shertzer Ln, Millersville, PA 17551, with the entrance at 5 Blue Rock Rd. at Pavilion A. The celebration of our beloved Grandfather, Daryle, will be carried out in the Native American tradition. Any stories, photos or mementos are welcome.

Soaring Hawk will be missed by my family very much. He had been a part of several Bob High Sr. Memorial Rides. His prayers were so appreciated. He will never be forgotten. Condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family and friends. Love, the High family
