Danny (Dan) Norman Bodine, 76, formerly of Kennett Square PA, died on September 5, 2023. He was born May 18, 1947, in Penn Yan, NY to Norman and Virginia (Burg) Bodine. A Regents scholarship graduate of Penn Yan Academy with a lettering in both football and baseball, he attended Geneseo State College and earned a degree in marine biology.
Dan joined the US Navy and served in the medical corps for six years. Pastor Dan led a mission trip to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to help rebuild homes following a devastating flood. I was fortunate to be invited to go with his group. He was an excellent leader, hard worker, and had a great sense of humor. Incidentally, to keep the budget down, we stayed in homes of parishioners of the local Lutheran Church. Pastor and I shared a children’s bunk bed. Yes, he took the lower bunk! The next year I led a group back to Cedar Rapids to continue helping. The people that we helped the year before, sought us out when they heard we came back to thank us again for our efforts. Pastor Dan touched a lot of lives and will live on in our memories. Best, Frank Stearns (Messiah Lutheran Downingtown)

We were colleagues when he was at St. Peters. I remember someone who loved teaching, loved serving, and lived out his faith in both. I will always remember a haunting yet inspirational story of God’s guiding hand thru relief work in a mission trip after Hurricane Katrina. You blessed me, and so many others. Thanks Dan.
