Daniel Alan Roush, 74
October 28, 2023
Daniel Alan Roush, 74 years, passed away to be with the Lord on October 28, 2023. He was surrounded by his wife of 34 years and immediate family. Born in New Brighton, PA., he was the son of the late Robert John and Clara (Funkhouser) Roush.
Dan was a member of Breakout Ministries in Leola and was a proud member of the worship team. He loved to sing and praise the Lord. In the early 70’s, he was involved in a coffee house ministry in Florida where he was a member of a Christian band called “The New Life Band.” Playing guitar was his passion and he spent many hours playing Christian songs at home.
Dan had many interests throughout his life span. There was a time where he raised and trained Beagles for field trialing. He succeeded in collecting a few trophies with his best dog “Casey P. Stubbs.” After the Beagle phase ended, he and his wife had a passion of horses. Together, they enjoyed years of riding and camping with dear friends. His biggest accomplishment was competing in endurance riding with his 16 hand Arab named Red. In 2006, together, they competed in the 50-mile National Championship Race in Virginia. His last horse was a Tennessee Walker named Dylan.
Daniel graduated in 1989 from Harmarville Rehab Center with a double Associate’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics. He and his wife settled in Lancaster, PA area where he worked for Accuped Orthotics. He became sole owner/ operator in 2007 with finally retiring in 2021.
In addition to his wife, Alice, Daniel is survived by his children: Christopher Roush of Mountville and Rachel Buch, wife of Joel of Rohrerstown; 4 grandchildren: Samantha Pagon (wife of Angel), Aliyah Buch, Joel Buch, Jr. “JJ” and Isaiah Buch all of Lancaster; 1 great grandson Leon Anthony Pagon; and his siblings: Julie Yeager (wife of Ron) of Elwood City, PA., James Roush (wife of Marabeth) of Cheswick, PA and Heather Barr (wife of Rob) of Beaver, PA.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by his siblings: Regina Cater (wife of Jim) and Robert Roush (wife of Jerry).
Dan looked forward to Tuesday Bowling with his son, Chris, grandson Joel, Jr. and his friends from Faith Fellowship Villa.
Dan had a kind and loving personality. He will be greatly missed.

Thinking of you Alice. You and Dan inspired us in our faith! It was easy and fun to be with you both – sharing our common bond. We were touched and blessed to learn to pray before a ride. Thank you for living your faith. We pray God Will continue to lift you up and carry you through the days ahead. With love and sympathy, Scott and JoAnn
