Dalton Albert Jones, 85
May 10, 2025
Dalton Albert Jones, 85, of Ephrata, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Ephrata Manor with his wife by his side. Born in Philadelphia, he was the first of five children of the late Albert and Elise Jones.
He was the loving husband of Susan Frey Jones. Following high school, Dalton studied at Temple University before enlisting in the Air Force. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and of the Army, serving overseas as a medic in Korea. There he met much of his future family. Later, he built his career in California working in quality control for an engineering company.
He was a Christian with a servant’s heart, who served as a Deacon at his church. He had a playful sense of humor and was a great encourager. From childhood, he loved to read newspapers and books, which he collected. He was a member of the Lancaster Christian Writers group. He was fluent in Korean and studied other languages, too.
In his early years, Dalton enjoyed playing football and other sports. Throughout his life, he rooted for the Philadelphia Eagles, 76ers and Phillies. He enjoyed working out, taking long walks and learning martial arts, like Aikido. He was a snappy dresser and enjoyed music of all sorts.
After the Lord, family was the most important thing to Dalton. He never ran out of love for the older generations or the younger ones coming up. His Korean family lovingly referred to him as a “respected uncle.” Dalton was a true gentleman and a loyal friend, a loving brother, father, grandfather, uncle to numerous nieces & nephews.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children: Mi Yong Cohen (wife of the late Jim Cohen), Norman Chung (husband of Kay Chung), Daniel Stadden (husband of the late Sally Stadden), Emily Stier (wife of Tim Stier), as well as grandchildren: Deanna Cohen, Katie Hunt (wife of Ian Hunt), Benjamin, Jude, Marcus, and Luke; and great-grandchildren: Christian, Jackson, Elijah, and Matthew. Also surviving are his brothers, Melville “Teedy” Jones and Tim Jones (husband of Anne Jones). Preceding him in death are brother Orlando Jones, son-in-law James “Jim” Cohen, and daughter-in-law Sally Stadden.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a time of viewing and visitation at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543, on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 PM. Interment will be private in Witness Park Cemetery.
