Collin Miksch Jones, 27
January 23, 2025
Collin Miksch Jones, 27, of Philadelphia, formerly of Williamsport, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Born in Williamsport, PA, he was the cherished son of Nancy Miksch Smoker and David E. Jones, and the beloved husband of Yugtha Jones.
Collin, a man of many talents, found himself in the melody of his guitar, a passion he acquired at a very young age. He would often be found creating and producing heartfelt musical pieces. His creativity grounded him, along with the love for nature and animals he inherited from his mother. He found peace in the sweet rustling of wind through the trees, the calming rhythm of rainfall and the calming song of birds in spring and summer.
Collin was a loyal friend who wore his heart on his sleeve. His loved ones knew that they could always rely on his support and strength. His confidence and integrity inspired those around him. He was generous with his kindness; never backing down when it came to lending a helping hand to anyone who needed him.
Collin had a way with words; he always found a way to make those around him laugh. He would often be found bonding with his friends through his love of video games, filling rooms with the echo of his warm (and loud) laughter. Everyone close to Collin appreciated his witty sense of humor. Devoted to his roots, Collin took great pride in exploring his ancestry; delving into the history of his ancestors and the rich legacy they passed down to him.
Collin had a special fondness for the beauty of the Outer Banks, the charm of Lititz, and the peaceful serenity of the River Walk, where he spent countless hours creating memories with loved ones. He found joy in simple, meaningful moments: long walks and deep conversations with his wife, Yugtha; the soft purrs of their cat, Indigo; and catching up with his closest friends. Whether spending time with family and friends or simply enjoying the soft purrs of his beloved cat, Indigo, Collin was known for his warmth, calming demeanor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Yugtha Jones; his mother, Nancy and her husband, Douglas Smoker of Belleville; his father, David Jones of Lancaster; his brother, Ian Jones and his sister-in-law, Katie Jones of Lancaster; his nephew Bryson and niece Mia; his sister Sophie Jones; paternal grandmother Mary Schoen; and paternal grandfather Emlyn Jones and his wife, Linda. Collin will also be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.
Collin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Helen and James William Miksch.
While Collin’s life was far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His unique spirit, boundless curiosity, and compassionate nature will forever remind us of the beauty of a life well lived.

Nancy, I read your son’s obituary and tribute, and my heart hurts for you. It has been years since I have seen you, but I remember you well from your days at Warwick High and especially in my German class. I am keeping you and your family members in my prayers. May you all find peace that is yours through treasured memories.

Collin was a true and loyal friend. He could always liven up a dark mood with his fun-loving, sometimes even wacky, ideas. In that regard, you could consider him a pioneer. Underneath it all though, I knew him to be a kind soul with much empathy for the suffering of others. He had a righteous heart and was fair in both actions and words. He was a man you could depend on and I’m glad to have been his friend. I wish for the best for his wife, his parents, and the rest of the family.

While it has been a long time since we’ve gotten to spend time together, we always kept in touch, laughing together over social media. You’ll always be my childhood best friend and I’ll always treasure the memories of sleepovers and staying up all night playing video games. I’ll play through army of two again soon and think of you. I will miss you, dear friend.

Sending my sincerest condolences to your family. Collin and I attended WAHS together, though never close. We shared many classes together through the years and that came with alot of laughter. He wanted to make sure everyone was smiling even if that meant making himself look silly to others. He was someone I looked forward to talking to and cracking a joke with. Gone too soon but wont be forgotten. Prayers for your family in this time of grief.
