Charles “Red” H. Meshey, 91
August 04, 2025
Charles “Red” H. Meshey, 91, of Landisville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lancaster, PA, Red was the son of the late Florence (Rineer) and Paul Meshey. He was the devoted husband of Shirley (McComsey) Meshey, with whom he shared 72 wonderful years of marriage.
Red proudly dedicated over 40 years to Armstrong, where he worked as a Supervisor until his retirement. Not one to sit still for long, he continued to stay active in retirement, working part-time at Leisure Lanes for 19 years. Red and Shirley also enjoyed living in Florida for 11 years, making many lasting memories together.
Known for his friendly and outgoing nature, Red was truly a people person. He loved bowling and golfing, took great pride in maintaining his yard, and cherished time spent camping and playing cards with friends and family.
Above all, Red was a family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; their two children, Beverle Torre (Bartolo) and Bryan Meshey (Lisa), both of Landisville; four grandchildren, Bart, Amanda, Zakery, and Deycon; and his great-granddaughter, Llayla. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Fay Byers, Peggy Kelly, and William Meshey.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory. Family and friends will be received beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Red’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

In the 1970’s in Delta, PA I was blessed to meet and spend time with Red and Shirley at their cabin! The memories flood my mind with the smell of homemade caramel corn, Red patiently stirring the magical mixture at the stove, the smell of the woodburning stove, hot cocoa and laughter. They loved their cabin and we loved them and of course Bryan riding his 4 wheeler, tearing up the gravel roads and swimming and fishing in the pond. Our heartfelt sympathy to your entire family.
