Catherine “Kay” Fenninger

August 29, 2017

Catherine “Kay” Fenninger, of Erlanger, KY, formerly of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with Jesus on August 29, 2017. The daughter of Italian immigrants, Kay grew up in a large family with nine siblings.
She met and married the love of her life, Carl Fenninger. Together they raised two daughters, and created a good life. Kay taught herself how to sew and passed on some of her knowledge to her grandchildren. She was also known as one of the best apple pie and chocolate chip cookie makers around. Her pies are legendary in the family, and she delighted in sharing those recipes with her daughters and granddaughters.
Kay is preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Fenninger; child, Kathy Lynn; and siblings, John, Dominic, Joseph, Filomena, Marrianna, Mary, and Rose. She will be remembered with love by those who survive her; daughters, Pat (Art) DiMartile and Janet (Michael) Romanowski; grandchildren, Jessica (Nathan) Bargen, Victoria DiMartile, Claire (Cameron) Hershberger, Max, Spencer and Molly Romanowski; great-grandchild Bruno Bargen; and sisters, Josephine Shenk and Joan Matthews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 at 2:30PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA with The Pastor Bob Kilgore. An interment will follow in Hershey Mennonite Cemetery, Kinzers, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kay’s memory to Calvary Church Global Ministries Fund, 1051 Landis Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601.

Pat,  Ann told me your mother’s obituary was in the newspaper and I wanted to send my condolences.  My mother is 95 but has sight and hearing problems.  It seems like such a long time ago that we were at St. Joseph’s in Peds. My how time flies. Hope you and your family are well.  Cynthia Welsch
