Betty J. Mahler, 88

Betty J. (Schnader) Mahler, of Lancaster, died at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, four days before her 89 birthday, after a brief illness.
Born April 26, 1936 in Lancaster, Betty was the daughter of the late Elmer and Frances Suter Schnader. She was the wife of the late George D. Mahler They were married 46 years.
She spent her adult life as a homemaker, a job she did with pride and loving devotion. Betty was passionate about her family and gave all of her time to support, love, and care for so many. She loved to cook large meals for the whole family, especially around the holidays. She often enjoyed playing cards and word games with family. She also worked part-time at Eden Theater and Anderson Pretzel Bakery.
Betty was a baptized lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, Lancaster.
Surviving are a son George D. Jr., husband of Inda (Brenneman) Mahler of Watkins Glen NY; daughter Cynthia Mahler, wife of Debra Edwards of Pequea; daughter Deanna (Mahler) Albino, wife of the late Freddy Albino of Lancaster; grandchildren George III, husband of Kie (Ransom) Mahler; Freddy Albino; Sarah (Mahler) Anderson, wife of Richard; Milton Anderson and Kelly Bonifacio; great-grandchildren Lazaro, Livia, Candice, Quinn, Tristina, Zyanna Nel, Miles, and Alayna.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband George D. Mahler; granddaughter Christina Albino; three brothers Elmer(Boss), Richard (Rip), Carl; four sisters Mary, Frances (Dickie), Leona (Girlie), Gloria (Ola)
There will be a Viewing on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 10 until 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 517 N Queen St., Lancaster, PA. The funeral is 11:00 AM in the church Pastor Stephen Verkouw officiating. Luncheon to follow. Procession from Grace Lutheran Church to interment at Greenwood Cemetery at 2pm.

My mom and myself are so sorry to hear this our hearts and prayers go out to the family. We never got to meet Betty but Cyndi always spoke very loving and highly of her. Wish we could have met her. Cyndiy momma num 2 I love you andy heart is breaking for you. R.I.P Mrs Betty 🙏❤️

I am saddened to hear of Betty’s passing. She was like a second mom to me and my brother growing up across the street on Elm Ave in Lancaster. She was a great lady. Our prayers go out to the family. RIP Betty.
