Beatrice “Betty” R. Gallagher, 92, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on November 5, 2018 at the Lancaster General Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late John A. Linton and Beatrice E. Tammany. Betty was the loving wife of the late Richard “Dick” R. Gallagher for over 65 years.
Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She attended Lancaster Catholic High School. She loved playing bingo and Pinochle. She enjoyed her card club but most of all Betty enjoyed spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by his 4 daughters: Doris Kelly of Lancaster, Kathleen Shuman, wife of Kenneth of Lancaster, and twins Jean Nessinger, wife of Michael, of Leola, PA and Joan Gerber of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and her siblings: Robert Linton of Royersford, Thomas Linton, husband of Barb of FL and Sister John Anthony of Notre Dame. Betty was preceded in death by siblings: James Linton, John Linton, Richard Linton, Edward Linton and Anna Smith. .
Friends and family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 Saint Joseph Street, Lancaster. The family will receive guests at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church, address above.

Jean, Doris, Kathleen, Joan, and Family, so to hear of your mothers passing, my beloved Aunt Bets, she was a wonderful woman and was so blessed to be able to spend the time that I did with her. I truly enjoyed all the monthly lunches at Shady Maple with her and your Dad. You are all in my prayers and thoughts. Wish I could be there with you, but know my thoughts will be with in the days to come. Hugs to all.

So sorry for your loss! Your mother was such a sweet lady! I remember her coming to union st Darrenkamps with you dad when I worked there! Now she is reunited with him and may she Rest In Peace! 🙏🏼💜
