Anthony S. Perrello, 83

Anthony S. Perrello, 83, of Lancaster, PA, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Ephrata Manor, Ephrata, PA after an illness.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Gaspare and Petrina (Gangi) Pirrello. He was married to Nancy F. (Pavone) Perrello for 60 years.

Tony retired from the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, NJ where he was employed from 1956 until 1980 as a tool and die maker. After moving to Lancaster in 1986, Tony worked for 5 years at Overlook Golf Course as a golf course marshal, and he was also employed for 5 years at Manheim Auto Auction. He was a former member of the Italian American Citizen’s Club. He played bocce ball with the Buchanan Park league. He was a member of Lancaster Elks Lodge #134. He enjoyed playing golf, and was a huge Yankee fan, and he loved socializing with people. He loved all his grandchildren and watching their activities and attending family gatherings. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army as a corporal, and he was involved in the North African and European Theater of Operations. He was also a veteran of the Korean War with the U.S. Army as a Sergeant 1st Class. Anthony was very proud to be a veteran of the U.S. Army and serving his country

In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by three sons: Gaspare A., husband of Arlene Perrello of Nanuet, NY; Christopher P., husband of Beth Perrello of Walden, NY; and Anthony J., husband of Kristin Perrello of Turlock, CA; and a daughter, Petrina P., wife of Robert J. Reese of Lancaster; two sisters, Marie Aversano of Houston, TX; and Mildred Urso of Chester, NY; and three brothers: Joseph Pirrello of Staten Island, NY; Thomas Pirrello of Clark Summit, PA; and Salvatore Pirrello of Centerreach, NY. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Vincent and Dominic.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Catholic Church, Chester, NY. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Smith Seaman and Quackenbush Funeral Home, Monroe, NY. Interment in St. Columbia Cemetery. Please omit flowers; memorial contributions in Anthony’s memory may be sent to ASERA Care Hospice, 315 Primrose Lane, Suite 101, Mountville, PA 17554.
