Amanda was my roommate and friend when she was a postdoc at Mount Sinai and we continued be friends over the years. I am so very sad and sorry for you loss. I know what a great light she was to all the people she knew and how people loved to be around her She always lit up when speaking about her family and it was clear how much you all meant to her. She is a wonderful human being and I will miss her greatly.

I have been dealing with this CSF for a few years and have the highest regard for any specialist and scientist that are working toward a better day with CSF leak issues.

I first met Amanda at Memorial Sloan Kettering when I interviewed in the Marron Center. I was extremely nervous, yet felt instantly reassured about my place in the lab after speaking with her. Amanda was an incredibly supportive mentor. She was always accessible and pushed me to become a better scientist. I carry many of her life lessons and her enthusiasm for bench science with me as I try to make my mark on the world. Amanda was my mentor for an undergraduate research project in 2012 at Wake Forest University. She was an excellent mentor and encouraged many to pursue a career in STEM. She was a hardworking, intelligent researcher and constantly made time for colleagues and students during her time at Wake Forest. I am grateful for all that she taught me as an early career researcher and will cherish our memories together in Winston-Salem. Reading her obituary and the countless messages here, anyone can see she touched the hearts of so many. Amanda and I comforted one another through the pain and frustration of our CSF leaks. She worked tirelessly to help bring solutions closer to illness in so many ways through the Spinal CSF Leak Foundation. 
I wasn’t Amanda’s closest friend but she made me feel like one. Her generosity, compassion, intelligence and openness made her an easy friend.

Amanda and I spent 3 years side by side as lab mates in graduate school. As a foreigner who spoke minimal English back then, she showed me nothing but great patience and hospitality and taught me nearly everything about surviving in the US and in graduate school. She even game me shelter at her house while I was between rental leases. I will forever cherish our memories together when I sat next to you in the office, when we went to countless lab outings, when we took our conference trip to Dallas, when we toured the New York city, when I visited you during your post-operational recovery.
