Albert Richard “Rich” Roark, 69
May 11, 2024
Albert Richard “Rich” Roark, Jr., of Lancaster, aged 69, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, May 11, 2024, following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Unionville, PA. Rich was the son of the late Albert R. and Evelyn (Allaband) Roark. Throughout his life, he lived in Oxford, El Paso, TX, and had settled in Lancaster for the past 36 years.
Rich owned and operated his own painting and paper hanging company for 50 years. He was highly respected in his field and known for his exceptional skill and dedication, taking on even the most challenging jobs with ease.
Rich was a passionate fan of professional wrestling, basketball, and football – Go Eagles! His true passion, however, was fishing. He participated in numerous deep sea and freshwater tournaments, earning citation awards for sea bass, striper, trout, and even setting a record for tuna in Lewes, Delaware.
Rich was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His legacy of dedication, honesty, and caring will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Christy Roark and Crystal Roark, his sister Paula Read, granddaughter Caylin Kerley, grandson Aiden Rutherford, and nieces Nichole and Lindsay, and nephews Tony, Jr., and Andrew.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 1 PM to 4 PM at 319 Tucquan Glen Rd., Holtwood, PA. Light fare will be served. Parking is limited, so if guests could carpool as much as possible, it would be greatly appreciated.
