A. Keith Jones, 87
December 15, 2024
A. Keith Jones, 87, of East Petersburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his residence.
Born in Fairview West Virginia, he was the son of the late Gerald and Grace (Starkey) Jones. He was the husband of Marie (Lopez) Jones and they were married for 67 years.
He was educated in West Virginia. He was last employed at Manheim Auto Auction. He and his wife, Marie are longtime members of Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Lancaster. Marie was the love of his life. The first time he saw her in September of 1951 he said “Lopez is mine!”
Keith excelled in every sport he played. In 1954/55 he led the Fairview Highschool basketball team to a state championship. He played basketball until he was 80 years old. He followed West Virginia Mountaineers up until the day he went home to be with the Lord, missing their bowl game by two days.
He loved his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were everything to him. He loved taking them on annual trips to the beach and weekly trips to McDonalds.
He was a super husband, father and granddad. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter, Kim (Gary) Spangenburg; son, Kevin (Jody) Jones; son-in-law, Philip Hain; brother, Jerry Jones; grandchildren, Jesse Jones, Hannah Jones Findlay, Jordan, Justin, and Ryan Spangenburg, Nicholas, Gage, and Adrian Hain; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Vacca; daughter, Kelly Jones Hain; son, Bruce K. Jones; and granddaughter, Gina Jones.
Friends and family will be received from 10am to 11am on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, 151 Donerville Rd., Lancaster, PA 17603. A celebration of life service will follow beginning at 11am.
