Yvonne M. Young, 81, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, with her husband of 57 years, Stanley J. Young by her side. Born in Shamokin, PA, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Clifford and Eva (Wagner) Newell. A long-time resident of Lititz, Yvonne was a co-owner of Glassmyers Restaurant for 8 years. She held several other positions in Lancaster during her lifetime: She was employed by Hershey and Gibble, managed the General Sutter Hotel, and was the private secretary to the plant manager of Packaging Corp. In addition, Yvonne was the owner of Yvonne's Casual Dress Shop, manager of Lula Bye Baby Portraits, and was a sales person for Share Corp. in Milwaukee, WI. Yvonne was very active in the community, attending the Salem Lutheran Church in Lititz and also belonged to the Lititz Women's Club. Yvonne loved spending time with her grandchildren, loved her pets, and enjoyed traveling to the beach. Yvonne was a real people person! In addition to her husband, Yvonne is also survived by her daughter, Yvette, wife of Matthew Grimaldi, of Simi Valley, CA, and two grandchildren: Zackary and Owen. Funeral Services for Yvonne will be held at 7PM, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 10:30AM, Friday, May 1, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Yvonne's name may be made to the Lancaster County SPCA, 848 S Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603.
