Yudelquis "Yudy" Acuña-Nuñez

Yudelquis "Yudy" Acuña-Nuñez, 46, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Penn Medicine - Lancaster General Hospital, after a courageous fight against breast cancer.

She was the beloved wife of Dr. Fernando Acuña, with whom she shared 26 years of her life. Born in Cuba in 1979, she is the cherished daughter of Zenadia Nuñez, also of Lancaster.

Yudy took great pride in her work as a registered nurse at Calvary Homes for over 10 years, treating the residents with the care and kindness she gave her own family. She was known for her strength, warmth, and support as both a colleague and a friend.

Outside of work, she cherished traveling, especially beach trips, cooking, and spending quality time with her greatest joys, her children. In addition to her husband, she is survived by their children, Bella and Fernandito, her mother, Zenadia, and stepfather, Marcos; her brother, Tony; along with a large extended family, her dog, Boomer, and all her many friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her viewing on Monday, February 23, at 10:30 am in the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, where her funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Yudy may be made to the Pennsylvania SPCA Lancaster Center.

Yudelquis "Yudy" Acuña-Núñez, de 46 años y residente de Lancaster, falleció pacíficamente el lunes 16 de febrero de 2026 en el Hospital General de Lancaster, Penn Medicine, tras una valiente lucha contra el cáncer de mama.

Fue la amada esposa del Dr. Fernando Acuña, con quien compartió 26 años de su vida.

Nacida en Cuba en 1979, es la querida hija de Zenadia Núñez, también residente de Lancaster.

Yudy se enorgullecía de su trabajo como enfermera titulada en Calvary Homes durante más de 10 años, tratando a los residentes con el mismo cuidado y amabilidad que le brindó a su propia familia. Era conocida por su fortaleza, calidez y apoyo, tanto como colega como amiga.

Fuera del trabajo, disfrutaba viajando, especialmente a la playa, cocinando y pasando tiempo de calidad con sus mayores alegrías: sus hijos. Además de su esposo, le sobreviven sus hijos, Bella y Fernandito; su madre, Zenadia; y su padrastro, Marcos; su hermano, Tony; así como una numerosa familia, su perro, Boomer, y todos sus numerosos amigos.

Se invita respetuosamente a familiares y amigos a asistir al velatorio el lunes 23 de febrero a las 10:30 a. m. en la Funeraria Charles F. Snyder, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, donde el servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 12:30 p. m. A continuación, el entierro se realizará en el Cementerio Menonita Mellinger de Lancaster.
