William Clair Schulz III, 69, of Lancaster, died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the husband of Linda (Barber) Schulz of Lancaster, and the son of the late William Schulz II and Anna (Brown) Schulz. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of American Legion Post #34, Lancaster, where he served as a Veteran Service Officer. Bill was a former board member for the Lancaster Recreation Commission, and was proud to be a US Army Recruiter because he felt he was helping young people find their way. Bill was a devoted husband and father who devoted his life to helping others. He coached boxing, basketball, and softball, and enjoyed being a mentor and volunteer. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lancaster. In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by a son, Adam C. Schulz of Lancaster; a daughter, Mindy S. Katz of Paoli; 2 grandchildren, Haley and Jamison Katz; 2 brothers: Robert of Lancaster and Brian of Manheim; and his loyal cat, Lucky. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 558 W. Walnut St, Lancaster with Msgr. Richard Youtz as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 11 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
