It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to William Joseph Michell, 84, of Lititz. Bill passed away on June 12, 2019.

Bill was born on February 23, 1935 to Catherine and William Mitchell in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from West Catholic School for Boys. He married Mary Margaret Burkitt on August 7, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA at the age of eighteen. Bill worked as a sales manager for Skyline Mobile Homes and later, as an agent for Metropolitan Insurance for over 20 years. He was a veteran and served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1954 to 1964. He was involved in Dramatics Club and Boy Scouts throughout high school.

Bill is preceded in death by his son, Drew Allen Mitchell; and his parents, Catherine and William Mitchell.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Margaret Mitchell; his children: Steven Mark Mitchell (Bonnie), Michael David Mitchell (Cindy), Jean Ann Lare (Patrick) and John Christopher Mitchell (Jennifer); grandchildren: Kelsey Anna Mitchell, Mary Catherine Mitchell, William Christopher Mitchell, Lydia Priest Mitchell, Sean Patrick Lare and Jillian Mary Lare; siblings: Edward Mitchell and Richard Mitchell, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
