William F. Kline, 82, of Lancaster died Wednesday, Oct. 22, at home. He was the beloved husband of Helen Marie (Sahd) Kline, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William T. and Elizabeth V. (Martin) Kline.
He was a longtime real estate broker and appraiser and later a tax assessor for Lancaster County. A devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lancaster.
He was an alumnus of Lancaster Catholic High School and attended Franklin & Marshall College. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army Air Force in the Pacific Theater.
A talented golfer, he also enjoyed bowling and fishing and was an avid sports fan. He was a beloved father and grandfather and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Theresa Ann Kline of Lancaster, William T. Kline of Stroudsburg, John A. Kline of Palo Alto, Calif., the fiancé of Jessica Chia, Robert C. Kline of St. Petersburg, Fla., husband of Susan (Anzalone) Kline, and Patrick T. Kline of Willow Street, husband of Laura (Bear) Kline; a brother, Jack H. Kline of Fort Myers, Fla., husband of Gloria Kline; and two sisters, Helen Roth of Landisville and Elsie Hall of Bradenton, Fla.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Courtney E. Kline of East Stroudsburg, Kevin W. Kline of Stroudsburg, Andrew P. Kline of St. Petersburg, Fla., Erik W. Kline of Willow Street, James W. Kline of St. Petersburg, Fla., Cassandra Rae Kline of Willow Street, and William D. Kline of St. Petersburg, Fla.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Shenberger, Patricia Shaub and Nancy Zipp.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at St. Leo the Great Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at the church.Please omit flowers.
