IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William H.
Kasel, Sr.
October 24, 2018
William H. Kasel, Sr. left this earth on October 24, 2018. He died at home in Manheim Township with his wife by his side. He is now free from all the aches and pains that plagued him for years. Officially, it was pancreatic cancer that ended his life all too soon. Bill was born in Columbia, PA, on December 2, 1939, to William B. And Catherine W. Kasel. He was the husband of Marie Fields-Kasel for over thirty years. Bill graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1958 and went on to attend barber school. He started his career at a barber shop on N. Prince Street. The building is now part of Art Row. From there he was the manager at Your Father's Mustache, which is also long gone, at the Park City Mall. He put away his shears after 18 years as the owner and operator of The Hair Designers in Lancaster. After a total of 42 years in the business, he felt it was time to retire. He also served in various capacities and positions with the Barber and Beautician organization over the years. Bill and Marie traveled to many places simply by having round-trip plane tickets and some maps. They always knew they could find a place to stay and have an adventure and an interesting story to tell in doing so. In addition, they made the most of long weekends by just getting in the car and going. He attended many NASCAR races because of Marie's employment and photographed many of the great drivers of that time. They also delivered Meals on Wheels for several years in the Lancaster area. In addition to his beloved wife, Marie, he is survived by his son, William, Jr., Boston, MA, daughter, Patricia A. Kasel, Lewisburg, Pa and step-son, Gregory Fields, Philadelphia, Pa, six grandchildren, Eric, Michael and Amelia Kramer, and William, Henry and Samuel Fields and countless good friends.
1939 – 2018. It is the dash between the years that are the most interesting and unforgettable.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory located at 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Guests will be received prior to the service starting at 12:30 pm. The Memorial Service will begin at 1:30 pm.
