William G. Greenwood, 86, of Venice, Fl, formerly of Lancaster, died Friday April 27, 2007.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William and Caroline Gegg Greenwood. He was the husband of the late Katherine E. Sweigart Greenwood, who died in 1983.

Bill was an electronic technician for the Dept. of Defense for over 27 years spending 14 of those years in Middletown and 13 in Utah. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church in Venice. He served in the US Air Force as a Corporal during the European Theatre. He was a member of the American Legion Post 34, life member of AMVETS Post 19, and the Elks Lodge 1092 in Middletown.

Surviving him are his grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A stepson, Thomas J. Gunning, preceded him in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
