William J. Fritz, Sr, 77, of Reading, Pa died April 3, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William B. Fritz and Jennie (Gebhart) Fritz. Bill graduated from Governor Mifflin High School and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute with a degree in mechanical design/drafting. Bill worked for Birdsboro Steel and various other firms as an engineer/consultant. He was the holder of several patents in the steel industry. He liked hunting, nature, and helping others in need. Surviving are two sons, William J. Fritz, Jr, Temple and Kevin Fritz, husband of Amy (Richardson) Fritz, Bel Air, Md. Other survivors include his sister Janet (Fritz) Griesemer, wife of Scot Griesemer, and many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by a brother John Harold Fritz, his sisters Arlene (Fritz) Essig, wife of Robert, Betty Jane (Fritz) Castle, wife of Francis, D. Joyce (Fritz) Marburger, wife of Dave, and nephew Andrew Marburger. Service will be private and at convenience of family.
