William (Bill) Erick Vandergrift Jr., born on August 20, 1986, of Ephrata, passed away unexpectedly on October 8, 2025. Bill worked as a mechanic at Manheim Auto Auction for nearly ten years and carried his passion work into his hobbies. He was always willing to help a friend in need.

He loved spending time outdoors—camping, hiking, cooking, going out to eat, and enjoying quality time with friends and family.

Bill was a devoted father to his son, Gavin Vandergrift. He cherished their time together, whether watching movies, laughing, or making memories. Bill was also a loyal brother and a true friend, always the first to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply loved and missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Dier; his son, Gavin Vandergrift; his chosen family, Zachary Zeiset and partner Jessica Brighton; his mother, Donna Yeakel Schaffer; and his sisters, Courtney Vandergrift and Cassie Vandergrift. Bill was preceded in death by his best friend, David DeFazio.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
