William G. Daum, Jr., 89, of East Petersburg, died on February 24, 2019 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born in Lancaster, PA on July 19, 1929, he was the son of the late William G. Daum and Ellen V. Wendler Daum. He was the widower of Grace Loraine Demmy, Ephrata, who died in 1991. Predeceased by a brother, Dr. Jere J. Daum, Potomac, MD; and a sister, Barbara Ann McIntyre, Lititz. He is survived by his son, Mark William Daum, companion of Sharon, of Mount Joy. Bill graduated from McCaskey H.S. in 1947. He served in the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division 505 Regiment, Paratrooper for 4 years from 1948-1952. He worked 38 years at Armstrong World Industries in the Floor Plant Corlon Lab as a technician. Bill also retired from Manheim Auto Auction. In past years, Bill enjoyed going to the beach for annual vacations and going on cruises. He was very active swimming laps and taking long walks. As per Bill's request, no services will be held. Bill will be laid to rest at Bowman's Cemetery, Ephrata, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
