William "Bill" "Billy" Shenk passed away October 3, 2023 at the age of 87 at Fairmount Homes in Ephrata, PA surrounded by his adoring family. Bill was born in Hinkletown on December 11, 1935 to Emery B. and Anna Mae (Hibshman). He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Clarence, Marvin and Emery and 6 sisters, Ethel Getz, Bernice Weaver, Ruth Sheaffer, Gladys Frey, Shirley Pfautz and Darla Wanner. He is survived by one sister, Orvilla Oberholtzer.
Bill served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. He was employed by Warner Lambert for 42 years where he met the love of his life, Arlene (Groff) with whom he shared 49 amazing years of love and laughter. They had three children, two sons, Dean, and Christopher and one daughter, Kara Alden (Mike) and two grandchildren who loved him more than anything, Brooke Olivia and Asher William, named after his Grandpa.
He was a member of the Special K Sunday School class at Lititz United Methodist Church for 39 years and had many amazing friends there who he loved dearly.
He loved God, visiting Maine, coffee hour, history books, smiling at strangers, bragging about his kids and grandkids and cheering on all underdogs but especially the Boston Red Sox. He lived a life full of laughter and love. He loved his family fiercely and let everyone know how proud he was of all of them.
Friends and family will be received from 9AM to 11AM on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Lititz United Methodist Church, 201 Market Street, Lititz, PA 17543. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 11AM.
