William A. "Billy" Bertz, 75, of New Providence, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

He was the husband of Deborah J. Harnish Bertz, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage this past October 22nd. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Dorothy M. Bitzer Bertz. Billy was co-owner with his late brother, Richard "Dick" Bertz Jr., of Richard Bertz's Sons, Inc., a well-known rigging business in the Lancaster area for many decades. He loved the outdoors, enjoying snow skiing, boating, and hunting. He was an avid water skier and a member of the Upper Chesapeake Ski Club. Billy was a talented wood carver and long-time member of the Red Rose Pistol Team. He had also coached youth basketball at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Billy was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his wife, Debbie, he is survived by his nephews, Thomas and Michael Stauffer, and his niece, Lynn Stauffer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard J. "Dick" Bertz Jr. and his sister, Sylvia M. Bogosh.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA from 6-7PM, with a Christian Prayer Service to follow at 7PM. During the prayer service, there will be a time for sharing memories of Billy. Interment will be at 10AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Lock Rd., Lancaster, PA, with friends meeting at the cemetery.
