Obituary

Warren S. Becker, 91, a lifelong Lititz area resident, passed away on September 9, 2017 at United Zion Retirement Community. Born in Warwick Township, he was the son of the late Elam and Grace (Sauder) Becker. He was the loving husband of Ruth (Snyder) Becker. They celebrated their 62th wedding anniversary last October. A graduate of Rothsville High School in 1944, he was born, raised and farmed the Bicentennial 9th generation family farm until 2012. Warren was an uncomplicated man who enjoyed life. He loved his family and nothing made him happier than spending time with them. With his quick smile and sense of humor, he made friends quickly. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, anything having to do with antique cars and tractors, steam trains, history and music. He was well known for his rare 1918 V-8 Chevy and his beloved 1914 Model T Ford. It was not uncommon for him to jump in and take it for spin especially when he had a passenger to ride along. Warren was a member of Hershey Region Antique Car Club of America and also served as a technical car consultant. In addition, he had belonged to the Red Rose Antique Car Club. He and his wife enjoyed going on many bus trips and also loved to square dance. In recent years, he enjoyed the many activities and events at United Zion. His adult coloring with bright vivid colors brought smiles to many faces. He was a member of Sonlight Bible Church and in recent years faithfully attended United Zion Chapel. In addition to his wife, Ruth, Warren is survived by his 3 children: Sue, wife of Jon Gerfen of Lititz, Caroline, wife of Craig Ziemer of Fleetwood, Lowell, husband of Vicki Becker of Reinholds. He has 5 grandchildren, Joe Hehnly(Tammy), Josh Hehnly(Jamie), Ashley Getty(Alex), Josiah Becker and James Becker and 3 great grandchildren: Stella Hehnly, Jackson Hehnly and Jace Hehnly. The family would like to extend their thanks for all the loving care and support given to Warren by the staff of United Zion and Hospice and Community Care. There will be a visitation on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 6-8PM at the Spacht Snyder Family Funeral Home, 127 S.
