Walter Washington Reidy Jr., age 96, passed away on August 22, 2024, at Neffsville Nursing and Rehab. Born in Allentown, PA., he was the son of the late Walter and Verna (Yetter) Riedy, Sr. and the devoted husband of 75 years to Dorothy (Orem) Reidy.

Walter served his country with pride as a Marine Corps CPL from September 18, 1946, until his honorable discharge on August 6, 1948.

Throughout his life, Walter found fulfillment in his role as a supervisor in the trucking industry, showcasing his dedication and leadership. His commitment to excellence was found in his work as a mechanic, electrician and carpenter. He will be remembered by those he touched with his kindness and wisdom. His contributions to his community, country, and family stand as a testament to his character and values.

Alongside his beloved wife, Dorothy, Walter is survived by his children: Richard Reidy (husband of Susan) and Pat Liddic (wife of Howard); his grandchildren: Charlene Reidy (wife of Dan Bortz) and Debra Fitzgerald (wife of Brian) and his great grandchildren: Erin and Shane Fitzgerald.

In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his sons Ronald Reidy (1956) and Dennis Reidy (2020).

A graveside service with military honors will occur on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003 at 11:30am where he will be laid to rest.
