Walter J. Dembniak, 85, of Lancaster died Monday, May 5, 2008 at Moravian Manor in Lititz, Pa. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Juliana Lojewski Dembniak. Walter was married to the late Helen C. Nonn Dembniak who died in 1975.  He owned and operated Walter's Beauty Salon for over 40 years. He served in the US Navy in Antigua BWI during WWII.

Walter's memberships include, St. John Neumann Catholic Church, and the VFW in Millersville. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are two daughters:  Juliana wife of Tom Weakland, Toni wife of Steve Stirgwolt, both of Ohio, one grandson: Tommy Weakland of AZ. Walter was preceded in death by five sisters and a special companion, Joan Kendig

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 11:00AM. Interment will be held in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00-11:00AM. Contributions may be made in Walter's memory to St Christopher's Hospital for children, E. Erie Ave and Front Streets, Philadelphia, PA. 19134. Arrangements are by the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel.
