Obituary

Vivian I. Hoffmeier, 98, of Landis Homes, went home to be with Jesus on August 17, 2016. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of the late Uhler and Irene Dunlap. She was the wife of Charles S. Hoffmeier who died in 1991. Vivian graduated from Middletown High School in 1935, and graduated from Central Pennsylvania Business College. She worked at WHP radio station, and then studied at LBC. In 1950 she and Charles with their daughter Sharon pursued their passion for the people of Egypt, traveling there and spending 17 years in ministry followed by 13 years of service in Montreal. Vivian was a member of Calvary Church and the Overcomers ABF and regularly led Bible studies until she was 89. She is survived by: Sharon, wife of Herbert Garber, Elizabethtown, James Hoffmeier husband of Cathy, Wheaton, Il, and Mary Lou, wife of Michael Joline, Lititz, 9 grandchildren, and 18 grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held at the Landis Homes Retirement Community West Bethany Chapel, 1001 East Oregon Rd, Lititz on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11AM. A viewing will be held for family and friends from 9:30AM till the time of the service. Interment will take place in the Middletown Cemetery at 2PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bible Society of Egypt (www.bsoe.org) and Calvary Church Mission fund, 1051 Landis Valley Rd, Lancaster 17601.
