Vivian Ann "Viv" Castelli, of Maytown, passed away from this earth into the next on March 10, 2023. She was born in Hershey, PA and was the daughter of the late Romeo and Flora (Franci) Castelli of Hershey. She was the loving wife of Barbara (Houser) Young with whom she shared 36 years of love together.
Viv was a graduate of Hershey High School, class of 1974 and later graduated from Penn State Harrisburg, class of 1990, with a degree in Humanities. She worked most of her adult life at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey. She began her work there as a phlebotomist and then laboratory support systems and was employed with HMC for 44 years.
She loved animals, especially her dogs Nittany, Hallie, and Emmy Lou, and all of her many cats. Viv did volunteer work for Organization for Responsible Care of Animals and many fund-raising activities. She enjoyed watching her Phillies baseball team and going to games. She was a die-hard Phillies and Eagles fan, and loved watching Penn State football games.
Viv loved visiting the Delaware beaches, especially Rehoboth beach. She enjoyed travelling and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who now reside in Tacoma, WA.
In addition to her wife Barb, Viv is survived by her son Kurt T. Young (Tracie) of Washington, brother Vincent Castelli (Donna) of Hummelstown, grandson Breton Young (Jessica), and great-grandchildren Royal and Eliza Young. She is also survived by 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Vivian will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations in her memory to Raven Ridge Wildlife Center, 10 Elizabeth St, POB 38, Washington Boro, PA 17582, Organization for Responsible Care of Animals, 401 E Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602, or any animal organization of your choice.
