Violet E. Eckman, 71 of Wrightsville, PA passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Altoona, PA she was the daughter of the late Mayberry and Rebecca (Yohn) Musselman. She was married to John C. Eckman for over 49 years. She was a homemaker for most of her life raising her children. Violet enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a former member of the S. Manheim Twp. Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary. She was of the Protestant faith. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, James R. Eckman, Sr., of Wrightsville, Brenda J., wife of Loyd Sylvester, Jr., of Columbia, and Pamela Eckman and Joyce Quijano, both of Lancaster. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a sister, Dolores Wachter, of Altoona, PA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 6 siblings. A Memorial Service will be held at 5PM on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Southern Manheim Twp. Fire Company, 1396 Orchard St, Lancaster, PA 17601.
