Violet R. Bush, 88, of The Mennonite Home, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2014 surrounded by her family. Born in Sacramento, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Wayne and Erma S. (Dunkle) Miller. Violet is survived by her husband, William "Bill" A. Bush. They were married October 9, 1948. Violet was a 50 year member of Trinity Lutheran Church on S. Duke St. She retired after 40 years from the Better Coat and Fur Department at Watt & Shand. Violet loved animals, musicals, theater, and enjoyed volunteering at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Her and Bill were former members of Conestoga Country Club. Surviving in addition to her husband, are four sisters, Miriam Snyder, of Manheim, Vera Underwood wife of Les, of East Petersburg, Carol Shank wife of Fred, of North Carolina, and Kay Hoffer of Manheim, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 2-3pm followed by a Funeral Service on January 11, 2014 at 3pm in the Chapel at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr., Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike. Cremation will follow in the Snyder Crematory Chapel. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Memorial Garden.
