Obituary

Veronica R. Mirocke, of 643 Oxford Drive, Lancaster, PA died Easter Sunday morning at Hospice of Lancaster County.

Born in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania and a resident of Lancaster for over 50 years, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Veronica Jancosko Hasara.

She was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School and a former member of Assumption BVM Church in Mahanoy City, as well as a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.  She was also a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Lancaster for the last 50 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Anna Lukach and Bernadine Ginther, both of Mahanoy City, as well as her husband of 55 years, Gregory J. Mirocke and a son, Joseph G. Mirocke of Philadelphia.  She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews who also survive.  A committed Mother and wife, she had a passion for great cooking, and enjoyed watching basketball.  Her favorite sports team of all time was the 1977 Lancaster Catholic High School boys basketball team.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 929 N. Duke St., Lancaster, PA.  A viewing will be held prior to the mass from 9:30 to 10:30AM at  St. Anne's.  Interment will be in the Assumption BVM Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Veronica's memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125. Arrangements by the Charles F.
