Vernon J. Groff, 80, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of the late Mary (Simmons) and Esaias E. Groff. He was the loving husband to the late Carole Ann (Ulmer) Groff.

Vernon was a graduate of Penn Manor High School. Prior to retirement in 2004 he worked at Hamilton Precision Metals for over 40 years.

Vernon enjoyed fishing and target shooting. He loved to go to antique tractor shows, visiting the Middle Creek Snowbirds and visiting Horseshoe Curve and the Lycoming County Mountains.

Vernon is survived by his son Vernon E. Groff of Lancaster; his sisters Betty J. Lefever wife of Donald E. of Martic Township and Judy Henderson of York as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Carole Ann; his infant son David C.; his brother Vincent Groff and sister Joan Patzer.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pet Pantry, 26 Millersville Road, Lancaster, PA 17603. A Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Wednesday January 12, 2022 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 N. George Street, Millersville, PA 17551, with Pastor Mark Thiboldeaux officiating. Family and friends will be received from 9AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
